Join local musician Ivan Mršić on a journey around the Panmure Basin and become part of an improvised composition created on the day. Through walking and guided sound making the group will create sounds and rhythms that augment the natural sounds of the basin. As he guides you around the lake in six easy stages Mršić will share stories of Panmure and guide you in listening exercises to discover the unseen visual elements and unheard audible environment of the area. From bird songs and water sounds to the urban sounds of the streets the walk will help you see and hear the area differently.
Our host Ivan Mršić migrated to Aotearoa in 1989 from Croatia. His walk will draw on early Dada and Surrealist walks. It acknowledges the 100 year anniversary of the first Dada walk. Sound making instruments will be provided.
